Rob Rusche & Larry Maglione serving in their semi-final doubles match
Yes, the rumors you have heard are true, two of the Hamlet's more accomplished golfers tried their hand in our tennis club championships over the past two weekends.
On Saturday morning, Rob & Larry took to the court in a semi-final match up against the #1 seeded team of Mike Krauthamer & and last weeks singles club champion and fellow golfer Pat Darragh. Going into the match as heavy underdogs, Rob & Larry performed very well in every game of the match but eventually lost out to the more seasoned and consistent team of Mike & Pat by the score of 6-2, 6-1.
Last weekend Larry and Rob participated in the men's singles competition where each player won their round of 16 match ups, yet both players fell short in their quarterfinal matches against stronger opponents. Congratulations to both players for their fine showings on the "other side" and for helping to start a revolution of sorts as the golfers invade the courts.
Look out Bruce...the golfer's are coming!!!
