Winter Golf Course Etiquette

Off Season Golf Course Etiquette

One of the benefits to our “snowless” winter is the continued availability of our golf course being open for play.  Our intention is to allow our members the opportunity to prolong the golf season and enjoy our golf course a bit longer than usual for this time of year.

Although the weather may provide a continued opportunity to play more golf for our members who stay up north for the winter, it also takes a bit of a toll on the golf course.  The lack of snow cover, exposure to the elements and continued wear and tear on the turf may have an effect on the overall course conditions come spring time.  Please understand that any bunker not raked, divots that are not replaced or the unrepaired ball marks on the greens will not heal on their own this time of year and will contribute to inconsistent and poor conditions for our members for the remainder of the off season.

Therefore we ask for the continued cooperation from our members who chose to play golf during the winter months with the following…

  • Please repair YOUR ball mark and at least one other on the greens
  • Please replace all divots with the turf and sand combination
  • Please keep your golf cart at least 30 YARDS away from ALL greens at ALL times and pay strict attention to directional signs and stakes
  • Please scatter golf carts to help eliminate soil compaction
  • Please keep golf carts on paths around all greens, tees and ALL PAR 3’s

While it is our pleasure to stay open throughout the winter as the weather allows, we must look towards the new season which will be here before you know it.  Our entire staff appreciate in advance your continued cooperation and your courtesy to the rest of our members in helping us maintain the wonderful golf course conditions that we have enjoyed all year.

See you at the club

Warmest regards,

Vic
