After 36 holes of team play on Saturday, the Blue Team captained by Jon Kudysch, took a sizable 4 match lead heading into play on Sunday. Saturday afternoon's alternate shot format on the back 9 proved to be the difference. Blue turned a 1 point deficit into a 4 point advantage by winning the final 5 matches of the day.
Overall, the Blue Team leads 19-15 heading into Sunday's singles play. With each 18 hole match worth 1 point, the 19 points still up for grabs can easily change the outcome for the Red Team by the end of play on Sunday. Matches start at 8:03 and tee times and pairings are available to view online.
The results for Saturday were as follows...
Saturday Morning Alternate Shot - Blue 5 1/2 ~ Red 3 1/2
Saturday Morning Four Ball - Red 5 ~ Blue 4
Saturday Afternoon Four Ball - Blue 4 1/2 ~ Red 3 1/2
Saturday Afternoon Alternate Shot - Blue 5 ~ Red 3
In 2012, it was the Blue Team that turned a 5 point deficit after play on Saturday into a narrow 1 point victory by winning most of the singles matches on Sunday. Anything is possible. Who knows what Sunday may bring.
